This 2 day course will develop your understanding of how sound, pictures and intercom talkback is extended across digital satellite communications links such as, but not limited to, those used in a SNG (Satellite Newsgathering) operation.

It explains how a compressed digital television signal is handled in satellite communications equipment and systems. Delegates will be led to examine the signal path, the parameters, processing and hardware involved in earth stations, but also the space segment along with the characteristics and standard used to ensure reliable transmission. This course explains the technology used, the theory behind it and details the technical and physical operations involved in a satellite communications operation, includes building systems, locating satellites and accessing them to both transmit and receive live contribution and distribution circuits.
