The IABM Tom McGann Training Award provides funding to organisations around the world who wish to develop and deliver new broadcast engineering training programmes. Our aim is to help these organisations train people who would otherwise be unable to receive dedicated instruction in broadcast and media technology related topics.
About the Tom McGann Training Award
In an industry where highly skilled engineers are becoming scarce, the IABM is working with organisations around the world to identify and reward those academic and training institutes that are striving to turn this around.
Training is vital to sustain the future of our sector. There are people all
over the world with the drive and enthusiasm for broadcast and media technology who just need access to the right courses.
The IABM looks for recognised universities or training institutes that can help bring training to those people who would otherwise be unable to receive dedicated training in broadcast and media technology topics.
The Tom McGann Award of UK£20,000 (approx US$38,000, €30,000) is awarded annually by the IABM to enable the development
and delivery of these new training programmes.
