HeadlinePoland's Largest News Station, TVN24, Selects Miranda's Kaleido-X For Multi-Room Monitoring
Article
Miranda Technologies today announced that Poland's first 24-hour news station, TVN24, has installed two Kaleido-X multi-image display processors for monitoring of all its channels, including CNBC TVN Biznes and TVN Meteo. The Kaleido-X system was supplied by Miranda's Polish distributor, Studiotech.

'Setup and configuration of the Kaleido-X system have been very simple', explains Jan Jedrzejczyk, Director of Engineering at TVN 24.

'A source only needs to be connected once for it to appear on every one of our LCD screens. The picture quality is superb, regardless of the size of a window, or the number of times it's repeated'.

TVN 24 has configured one Kaleido-X to display 64 inputs across eight 40 inch and 57 inch LCD screens; the second processor displays 48 inputs over four LCD screens. The station uses the system to display tallies, audio bars, signal loss detection, as well as clocks.

By using the Kaleido-X's on-screen drop-down menus, operators can change aspect ratios, check the safe area, assign inputs and adjust the UMD text to optimize the monitor wall space. Each Kaleido-X display output can be controlled completely independently, using remote panels or on-screen mouse control in the station's master control, ingest and control rooms. The XEdit multi-room layout editor simplifies the sharing and presentation of centralized sources across these rooms.

The highly robust Kaleido-X frame has multiple points of redundancy, and no single point of failure for reliable 24/7 operation. It uses front loading, hot swappable modules and power supplies. All modules are independent, and no single module can cause the system to fail.
