HeadlineIABM and JESA Sign Collaboration Agreement For Inter BEE Event In Tokyo
Article

Recognising the importance of the Japanese media market, the IABM and JESA (Japanese Electronics Show Association) have entered a long-term collaboration agreement for the Inter BEE event which takes place in Tokyo each November. The IABM is the international trade association that represents broadcast and media technology suppliers worldwide.

Roger Crumpton, Chief Executive of the IABM, commented: “The Japanese market is a strategic market for the global supply community, and we’re delighted we’ve concluded this agreement. It will bring significant benefits to our members and provide international endorsement which will enhance the standing of Inter BEE as one of the world’s major broadcast technology events.”

Inter BEE, a showcase of the newest technologies and emerging trends in broadcasting, is sponsored by the Japan Electronics and Information Technology Industries Association (JEITA) and supported by the National Association of Commercial Broadcasters in Japan (NAB-J) and the Japan Broadcasting Corporation (NHK). Planning and management are provided by the Japan Electronics Show Association (JESA).

According to research undertaken by the IABM in 2006, the overall market for broadcast and media technology products is worth US$11.6 billion and growing at 11% per annum. A number of Japanese companies are among the leaders in a number of the market segments featured in the research, and these include IABM members, Canon, JVC, Panasonic and Sony.

Inter BEE takes place at the Makuhari Messe in Tokyo from November 20th-22nd 2007.
