NEW FOR IBC 2008

InFILE
SysMedia will launch the latest version of its InFILE subtitle embedding software at IBC 2008. This will now add full broadcast quality open-caption subtitles in any language to a digital media file as part of a software-only file-based workflow. This functionality will be demonstrated for the first time at IBC 2008.

This new open-caption capability extends InFILE's functionality to cover traditional burnt-in translation subtitles as well as all popular closed caption formats (teletext, Line 21 and DVB). The software works with SD and HD MPEG-2 video files and DVB transport streams; formats such as H.264 and QuickTime are also on the roadmap for 2008.

Mobile Gold
Content and information delivery to mobile phones from Plasma Gold, the multi-platform production and management system that enables fast and easy republishing. Mobile Gold opens up the publishing of topical information such as sports news and finance, coupled with advertising and SMS response, generating additional revenue and brand awareness.

Plasma Gold
Now supports the latest MHEG-5 developments allowing the broadcaster far more control over the look and feel of a digital text service - most particularly the ability to modify it without having to resort to preconfigured layouts. This puts Plasma Gold's creative flexibility using MHEG on a par with that offered through MHP and OpenTV.

ALSO ON SHOW:

  • WinCAPS - SysMedia's globally successful subtitling system.
  • Plasma Gold - The company's interactive TV content management and production system for digital teletext and information feeds, red-button services and interactive advertising, video mosaics and real-time sports data.
  • PLASMA - the world's most popular and easy-to-use teletext system.
