Crystal Vision At SET 2008
Article
The very latest Crystal Vision products will be available for demonstration on the 4S Informatica booth at SET 2008 (27th-29th August, Centro de Exposições Imigrantes, São Paulo). As Crystal Vision’s distributor in Brazil, 4S Informatica will be exhibiting products from Crystal Vision’s brand new area of speciality, the Picturestore picture storage product range, as well as Crystal Vision’s chroma keyers and a wide range of multi-definition interface boards.
Offering a unique level of image quality within its price range, Crystal Vision’s Q-Down broadcast down converter and distribution amplifier is just one of the products being exhibited on the 4S Informatica booth at the show. The number and flexibility of the output combinations available from the four different versions of this product, means that Q-Down is of interest to everyone and can be used for a wide range of applications, working with both High Definition and Standard Definition signals. Q-Down and Q-Down-A (for embedded audio) are each available in two different versions, giving either two reclocked outputs or eight reclocked outputs with all four versions providing an additional three configurable Standard Definition outputs. Q-Down’s outstanding performance is as a result of sophisticated two-dimensional filtering, giving broadcast quality results without the complication of looking at multiple fields or movement detection. Q-Down simplifies system design by handling any aspect ratio conversion required and a short processing delay means there is no need to compensate audio or other signals for the video delay in order to keep everything in sync.
Also featured on the 4S Informatica booth will be Crystal Vision’s Safire chroma keyers. Producing exceptional linear chroma keying for the creation of realistic virtual images, the compact and affordable Safire module is easy to set up and operate and a choice of three chroma keyers means there is a Safire to suit every definition, budget and application.
Working alongside the Safire chroma keyers, Crystal Vision will be using their latest High Definition and Standard Definition interface cards to convert, amplify and distribute the HD and SD signals. Available for demonstration will be one of Crystal Vision’s latest up/down/cross converters – Up-and-down-A – providing exceptional performance as a result of motion adaptive video de-interlacing and ensuring the best processing method will be chosen to produce the sharpest output picture possible.
Dolby E users should visit the 4S Informatica booth at SET 2008 to see the new features that have been added to Crystal Vision’s HD audio embedder/de-embedder - TANDEM HD-21. These include the option to delay the video by a frame to compensate for the delay created by converting to or from Dolby E and extensive Dolby E handling.
Working with both High Definition and Standard Definition signals, SYN HD will be used as a frame synchroniser for signals without embedded audio. With full vertical and horizontal timing adjustments, SYN HD is a powerful synchronising system, synchronising at three separate points to avoid picture disturbances on switches.
The latest additions to Crystal Vision’s Standard Definition interface range will also be available, in particular the flexible A to D converter - ADDEC-310. Replacing the previous version ADDEC-310 has gained the ability to work with an RGB input (with either integrated or separate syncs) allowing it to be used with equipment such as DVD players and analogue cameras.
The Crystal Vision boards on display will be housed in the company’s newest frame type with Ethernet connectivity, allowing easy connection to a computer running the latest version of Statesman PC control software via a Local Area Network.
