Enthusiastic responsible engineer for the design, implementation and testing of software applications. 

Working in a small team environment based in the UK near Wokingham, Berkshire you will be part of a larger department of engineers designing specialised products for the professional video and audio broadcasting market.

Tasks include

  • Review of software requirements 
  • Formulation of software designs and related implementation, consistent with existing designs and compliant to in-house style 
  • User interface design and scripting
  • Preparation of specified test plans and test cases and related software testing 
  • Production of relevant documentation 


  • Degree based qualification (or equivalent) ideally in Computer Science or Software/Electronic Engineering and with some commercial experience
  • Strong command of object orientated programming and understanding of multi-threaded applications
  • Experience in C++ for Windows platforms ideally using Visual Studio 
  • Good analytical and problem solving skills 
  • Good command of the English language 
  • Dynamic and flexible personality who enjoys working in a team
  • Ability to work under pressure with good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Knowledge or programming experience of the following would be an advantage:
    • Network protocols

In addition, you shall have a well-developed understanding of the broadcast market in terms of workflows for news gathering and production, post-production and live to air production. The Role

This role requires working within a multi-disciplinary team of engineers to design high quality, high speed, low noise analogue and RF printed circuit boards in accordance with engineering, mechanical and company requirements and processes.
The role will require interaction with an in-house assembly team with a view to delivering boards with a high level of quality and manufacturability in a timely manner.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design single sided, double sided and multi-layered PCBs using industry standard techniques, ensuring considerations for DFM/DFT have been made.
  • Responsible for completing PCB designs in accordance with agreed project time, cost, quality and performance requirements.
  • Working with Electronic/ RF Engineers to develop Schematics.
  • CAD library administration including symbol, footprint generation and database administration
  • Creation and maintenance of enterprise data packs
  • Creation of 3D models and assemblies from 2D layouts
  • Technical liaison within Engineering, and other company departments, as well as external suppliers.
  • Contributing to continual process improvement within the Engineering Department
  • Any other duties that the PCB Design Team Leader deems suitable for this role
