Pixelmetrix to release its Pelican™, the First Full Range Video Encoder Product Line, at CommunicAsia 2012
19 Jun 2012Pixelmetrix, a leading innovator for professional video and television solutions, announced a new addition to its product portfolio – the Pelican™ family of video encoders. A sneak preview is planned for at Booth 1Q4-03, CommunicAsia, to be held in Singapore this week.
Built smaller than a 3.5 inch hard drive, the compact, rugged Pelican encoder is ideal for remote news gathering, enterprise video, hospitality, government, education and healthcare applications. Set up and configuration is a snap with the built in HTML5 web interface. All Pelican models support live IP streaming from the built-in Ethernet port.
At the show, Pixelmetrix will introduce three Pelican models: Pelican-Analog, Pelican-SD and Pelican-HD.
Pelican-Analog is for composite analog video and stereo analog audio inputs, Pelican-SD is for SDI video with embedded stereo audio as well as mini-XLR with balanced audio, while Pelican-HD supports HD-SDI video with embedded stereo audio as well as mini-XLR with balanced audio.
A wide range of video standards is supported, ranging from 320x180, all the way to 1080p. Both MPEG-2 and H.264 formats are supported as well.

Prices for Pelican start at US$2,950 for Analog, and under US$4,000 for HD. Product shipments begin in July.
Demo highlights at the booth also include the newly launched OTT Media Grinder (OMG) and the newly enhanced DVStor2 with Timeline and Multiflow.
Pixelmetrix presents its latest offerings at CommunicAsia with Alphatron, the authorized distributor in Singapore.
